Pop Up Shop to open in Newport

Newport’s Pop-Up Shop took another step forward this week when 3 more independent Shropshire businesses joined up, an opening date for the shop was set and a reporter from BBC Radio Shropshire visited the space and interviewed several of the business owners.

There are now 15 businesses taking the opportunity to showcase their products in the former bar on the corner of High Street and Wellington Road, with artists, photographers, a perfumier, a milliner and a jam maker amongst the jewellery and craft businesses.

The Pop Up is also encouraging new businesses with the opportunity to take a space in the shop for just one day, a low cost chance to test a business with support also coming from StartUp Britain.

As the Prime Minister’s enterprise advisor Lord Young told us – ‘ There’s never been a better time to start a business, and we’ll never see this opportunity again in our lifetime’

The Pop Up Shop opens on 9th November with an opportunity to get some great advice on starting a food business from Bruce Mc Michael, author of Cook, Wrap, Sell who will be in the event area of the shop between 9 and 10.30 am.
